Cardiff Valley Lines Electrification Programme- Cable Installations

Our skilled teams were deployed across many nights and days and were tasked with installing over 30km of cable into various types of containment. Using RRV’s and Winch operated plant we installed cables through tunnels, walking routes, level crossings and depots throughout the Cardiff Valley area.

Cardiff Valley Lines Electrification Programme- HV Jointing & Testing
Work carried out
We deployed various Testing and Jointing Teams to the project on a variety of shifts with over 200 combined tests and joints being completed throughout. The completion of substation feeds was included with all supporting data being created and then submitted to the project.

Tag & Trace- Murphys

In readiness for a new bridge replacement our teams were tasked with identifying all cables across bridge DCL 159. We completed full surveys of location cabinets and end to end inspections of Fibre cables and compiled a detail report showing end to end of cables and explaining what the asset is being used for.

Work carried out
Planned all plant and deployment of cable install teams throughout the whole project. Completion of all testing including all Form E completion to energise and entry into service.

HS2- Tag & Trace
Balfour Beatty – Vinci JV
Work carried out
Deployment of skilled Engineers to tag and trace existing assets through a section of track to be removed shortly to make way for one of HS2’s new Tunnel under crossings. We complied a full report stating all locations of existing telecom cables with evaluation of points A to B of each section in question.
Live QR codes were placed on all assets in question for all other contractors to source valuable information at any required time.

Balfour Beatty- Vinci JV
Work carried out
Full De-Vegeatation of embankments to facilitate for monitoring stakes and survey areas to be accessed for emergency monitoring whilst excavations commence. Drainage surveys were also completed to determine existing utilities throughout each area. Temporary access gates were also installed to allow for specific area access throughout the route.
